Jessica Lewis fourth in T53 100 metres final at Tokyo 2020 Paralympics

Bermuda’s Jessica Lewis finished an agonising fourth in the T53 100 metres at the Tokyo 2020 Paralympics this morning.

Lewis clocked 16.90sec in the race to place less than four tenths of a second out of the medals.
The podium was dominated by the Chinese, with Goa Fang taking the gold in 16.29 and Zhou Hongzhuan the silver in 16.48.
The crucial third spot was claimed by Samantha Kinghorn, of Great Britain, in 16.53.
Lewis completes her Paralympics programme tomorrow in heat two of the 400 metres.
