Caitlyn Bobb competes for Virginia Tech for first time

Caitlyn Bobb has made the switch to Virginia Tech

Sprinter Caitlyn Bobb set a personal best as she competed for Virginia Tech for the first time on Friday.

Bobb, who is now a graduate student at Virginia Tech after finishing her studies at the University of Maryland, finished sixth of the 39 competitors in the 300 metres with a time of 38.34 seconds.

The 21-year-old’s time was just over a second behind that of the winner Jayla Jamieson, from South Carolina, at the Clemson Indoor Track & Field Meet in South Carolina.

While at Maryland, Bobb earned 2022 NCAA All-American Second-Team honours and was a three-times recipient of the Coaches' Award. She holds Bermuda National records in the 400m both indoor and outdoor, 200m for outdoor and 500m for indoor.
