Seeing something green in the sky? Don’t worry it’s just a Nasa experiment

After the eighth - and final - attempt, Nasa last night launched its KiNET-X mission when a Black Brant XII rocket blasted off from the agency’s Wallops Flight Facility, in Virginia.

It meant that people were able to see a green vapour cloud over Bermuda as the rocket released barium gas into the atmosphere.

Nasa was attempting to create two harmless vapour clouds as part of a mission to study energy and momentum in different regions of the atmosphere.

The mission had been cancelled seven times due to weather conditions and last night’s flight was the eighth and last attempt.
