East End roadworks to continue
Ongoing roadworks were announced for the East End as Belco trenching continues next week, according to the Ministry of Public Works.
The dig around Harrington Sound Road is to move past Paynter’s Road in Hamilton Parish to the Belco substation, while a one-lane closure continues at Harrington Sound Road and Wilkinson Avenue.
The closure is in effect to the end of October, with work ongoing from 8am to 6pm, weeklong.
Further Belco digs continue in St George’s, on Stokes Point Road and Mullet Bay Road to Echo Lane junction, also requiring a one-lane closure.
All residents will continue to be granted access to Stokes Point Road while paving works have switched over to Mullet Bay Road, aimed at meeting the Cup Match holiday weekend deadline – with Stokes Point Road to be finished next.
Closures are expected through July 24, with work from 7.30am to 6pm, Monday through Saturday.
In addition, a section of Pitt’s Bay Road in Pembroke will be closed off from next Tuesday through Friday from 9.30am to 3.30pm, for Highland Sanitation Services to repair a septic pit.
The north lane of the road will be closed at 20 Pitt’s Bay Road, which is south of the junction with Serpentine Road.
