Work to clean the King Edward VII Memorial Hospital today will affect traffic flow on the hospital grounds.

A Bermuda Hospitals Board spokeswoman said that there would be no through traffic between Point Finger Road and Berry Hill Road while the exterior of the hospital was given a spring clean.

She added: “Cleaning of the outside of the hospital building necessitates use of a lift that will block the road on the campus near the Botanical Gardens.

“Pedestrians will not be affected.”

The spokeswoman said that emergency vehicles and people attending the Emergency Department should use the Point Finger Road entrance.

She added that ambulances would enter and exit on Point Finger Road.

The acute care wing car park off Point Finger Road and the general wing and Agape House car park off Berry Hill Road would still be accessible.

But the spokeswoman said: “Traffic will not be able to travel between the general wing lobby roundabout and Point Finger Road.”

She added that road users should use caution driving through the affected areas and follow the directions of signs and security staff.
