Motorists in the east end are advised to drive with caution when another Bermuda Bicycle Association race takes to the roads.

The BBA National Time Trial Championship Race will take place on Sunday between 7.30am and 10am.

The Ministry of Public Works has warned that some roads along the route may be closed to traffic.

The race will start on Cooper’s Island Road, head north and then turn left onto Southside Road.

Cyclists will then head to the Westcott Road roundabout, turn right and then travel in an easterly direction along Southside Road to Tommy Fox Road. The route will also pass along Pepper Hall Road before returning to Cooper Island Road.

A ministry spokesman said: “All motorists are expected to use caution and avoid collision with race participants.

“The race route will be under race official control. Motorists are asked to follow race official instructions to assist with traffic control for this event.”

Although the spokesman added that road closures were not expected, he added: “The Bermuda Police Service are hereby authorised to close off streets or portions of streets and authorise parking as the Commissioner of Police decides.”
