Motorcyclist in hospital after Barnes Corner crash

A male motorcyclist has sustained a head injury following a two-vehicle collision involving a bus at the junction of Middle Road and South Road in Southampton.

Police and first responders attended the crash at Barnes Corner at about 6.20pm yesterday.

A spokeswoman for the Bermuda Police Service said: “Initial enquires suggest that the bus was attempting to exit the South Road junction heading east on Middle Road and the motorcycle was also travelling east on Middle Road when the collision occurred.

“The male motorcycle rider is believed to have sustained a head injury and was conveyed to King Edward VII Memorial Hospital for treatment. The male bus driver was not reported to be injured.

“There were no passengers on the bus at the time of the collision.“

Traffic was diverted at the Middle Road/South Road junction and the Church Road/Middle Road junction.
