An inspection of the Swing Bridge in St George’s is on schedule, according to the Ministry of Public Works.

Scaffolding was placed around the structure last month so that a detailed assessment of the bridge’s condition can take place.

At the time, the Government announced that the work could result in the bridge being open to one lane of traffic. However, that has not been necessary.

A ministry spokesman said: “Scaffolding is nearly complete and the proper inspection will begin on February 2.

“No issues have been identified thus far and the inspection is scheduled to last four weeks.

“The ministry anticipates a full report and analysis by the end of the first quarter.”
