Traffic was held up in Southampton yesterday morning when a bus and a tractor trailer carrying an excavator seemingly made contact as they were passing each other.

The near collision did not appear to cause much damage to either vehicle although passengers on the bus were reported to have had a shock.

Once the bus and trailer were separated, traffic was able to resume.
