The summer ferry schedule will start on Monday.

The schedule will feature Orange Route ferries going to St George’s when cruise ships are in Dockyard overnight and additional trips on the Pink Route in Hamilton Harbour.

Wayne Furbert, the transport minister, said an additional 32,000 passengers were expected to use the ferries to visit St George’s, an estimated 45 per cent increase from 2022.

He said the ministry would review demand for the Orange Route throughout the summer after St George’s leaders called for a daily ferry service.

He added that the extended schedule for the Pink Route, which will include additional trips during the week and on weekends, signified the department’s commitment to ensure the community received the necessary transportation.

Cuts to the Pink Route led to protests last year. Funding for the route was increased in this year’s Budget.
