Car and bus collide on Harrington Sound Road

A 27-year-old was injured after a collision between a car and a bus on Harrington Sound Road this morning.

A police spokesman said officers received reports of a collision near the junction with Cedarberry Drive in Hamilton Parish at about 8.15am.

“Details remain limited at this time,” the spokesman said. “However, it appears that a bus and a car collided on Harrington Sound Road, in the vicinity of Leamington Caves.

“The car driver, believed to be a 27-year-old local man, was hurt and apparently had to be extracted from the vehicle. He was then transported to King Edward VII Memorial Hospital via ambulance, for treatment. The extent of his injuries is currently unknown.

“So far, there is no indication that anyone on the bus was hurt.”

Police diverted traffic away from the area at Paynter’s Road and Trinity Church Road for around two hours while the scene was processed.
