BermudAir to bolster airlift as other carriers begin cutback
The recently launched BermudAir will bolster airlift to and from the island next month as some carriers cut back service.
The October flight schedule, recently released by Skyport, includes six weekly flights to Westchester, Boston and Fort Lauderdale by the Bermuda-based airline throughout the month.
It has already launched flights to Westchester and Boston, with the Fort Lauderdale service scheduled to come online this month.
However, some other airlines are set to cut back service to the island as the summer season comes to an end.
JetBlue service between Bermuda and New York JFK is set to halt with the last flight scheduled for October 28. The airline has also halted its service to New York LaGuardia, with the last scheduled flight taking place yesterday.
However, JetBlue will continue its service between Bermuda and Boston.
Meanwhile, WestJet service between Bermuda and Toronto is completely absent from the schedule with the last flight scheduled for Friday, and the final United Airlines flight to Newark for the season has already flown.
No SATA Airlines flights between Bermuda and the Azores are listed, with the last flight set to take place on September 19.
However, the airline is scheduled to resume its serve to Ponta Delgada later this year with flights to take place in December and January.
American Airlines are scheduled to continue daily service to New York JFK, Charlotte and Philadelphia throughout October.
British Airways is set to maintain daily service between Bermuda and Heathrow, while Air Canada will continue to offer four weekly flights between Bermuda and Toronto.
Delta Air Lines service to both New York and Atlanta are also expected to continue.
