Work begins on bus terminal tarmac
Workers have started resurfacing the Hamilton Central Bus Terminal, the station will be closed to all buses while this work, which is scheduled to finish at the end of the month, is carried out.
A temporary facility is set up along Victoria Street, between Cedar Avenue and Wesley Street.
As a result, the road, between Cedar Avenue and Dismont Drive, as well Washington Street from Victoria to Church Streets, are closed to motorists.
Travellers on bus routes 1, 2, 3, 7 and 8 can catch buses outside the public restrooms, near City Hall, and buses for routes 4, 5, 9, 10 and 11 will pick up passengers on the opposite side.
One group of workers have broken ground at the terminal’s junction with Victoria Street, near Digicel’s offices, and another team is working at the station’s Church Street side, next to Café Acoreano.
People can still receive tokens, tickets, passes and information at the booth in the middle of the terminal during the resurfacing.
