Motorcyclist injured in Sandys collision
A motorcycle rider required hospital treatment after a collision on Mangrove Bay Road, Sandys, on Wednesday.
According to police, a car was travelling north on East Shore Road at about 3.30pm before turning on to Mangrove Bay Road. As it continued the turn, the motorcyclist, travelling in the eastbound lane on Mangrove Bay Road collided with the driver’s side door.
The motorcycle rider, a 51-year-old male, sustained facial wounds and was attended to at the scene by EMTs before being taken to hospital for further treatment to his injuries, which were not life-threatening.
The 30-year-old woman car driver was not reported to have been injured.
An investigation into this incident has begun, and anyone with information is asked to contact Pc John Outerbridge by calling Somerset Police Station on 234-1010 or e-mailing jrouterbridge@bps.bm.
