Chris Spencer named TCD director

The new director of the Department of Transport Control has been announced as Chris Spencer.

He will oversee the management of the department’s five sections and work under the guidance of the Permanent Secretary of the Ministry of Transport.

Mr Spencer will also lead several initiatives, primarily maintaining the safety and compliance of all road users.

He joined the Department of Transport Control in 2007 and after years of hard work was promoted to the assistant director of TCD in 2018.

Before his appointment, Mr Spencer was registrations manager for seven years and later became the manager of technical services.

He was a member of the Bermuda Police Service for 30 years before joining TCD and served as a driving and riding instructor for TCD during this time.
