Senior rescued from car after Southampton collision

A truck and a car travelling in opposite directions collided last night in Southampton, with the car driver treated in hospital and discharged.
The crash at 8.50pm on Middle Road, near the junction with Evans Bay Road, blocked traffic for about two hours while the scene was processed by police.
The 72-year-old woman, from Warwick, was temporarily trapped in her vehicle and freed by firefighters
The truck driver, said to be a 48-year-old Sandys man, was not hurt, but both vehicles were damaged.
Police asked for any witnesses who have not already come forward to call 211.
