Road work and a bicycle race to affect traffic on Sunday
Sewerage line work, CCTV instillation and a bicycle race will all impact motorists this Sunday.
The Ministry of Public Works also announced that Flora Duffy Hill and portions of Crow Lane will be closed to traffic on Sunday as sewer repair works are carried out.
A notice said that the work would require multiple lane and road closures.
“This sewer repair work will affect the two outbound lanes on Crow Lane just east of the Lane Hill entrance to the Crow Lane roundabout,” the notice said.
“Because of the lane closures on Crow Lane, Flora Duffy Hill will have to be closed. These lane and road closures will commence on Sunday, weather permitting.
“The work shall take place between 7.30am and 7pm. Traffic control will be managed by contractor's representatives with barricades and detour advisory signs.
“During the outbound lane closures, all traffic leaving Hamilton will be detoured via Lane Hill and Cavendish Road.”
If weather challenges arise, the work will be pushed back until April 28.
The ministry also announced that lane closures to allow the instillation of a new CCTV camera will affect traffic in Flatts.
A portion of Middle Road at near the junction with North Shore Road will be closed for work, to be carried out between 7am and 6pm.
“No vehicular access will be granted through the closed lane for safety purposes,” the notice said.
“The Ministry of Public Works encourages the public's full co-operation, and we apologise in advance for any inconvenience this lane closure may cause.”
The Ministry also announced that the Bermuda Bicycle Association Winners Edge Time Trial Bicycle Road Race may affect motorists on Sunday morning.
The race, which travels along South Road between Stonington Avenue in Paget and Church Bay Park in Southampton, is expected to start at 7.15am and conclude by 9.30am.
The race is not expected to cause any road closures, but motorists are urged to use caution to avoid collisions.
