An upcoming bicycle race will affect motorists on the morning of June 2, the Ministry of Public Works said.

Bermuda Bicycle Association’s VT Construction Road Race is to take place in Hamilton Parish and Smith’s between 8am and 10.30am.

The race will start and end on St Mark’s Road, with cyclists racing along South Road, Paynters Road, Harrington Sound Road, Middle Road and Verdmont Road.

A notice from the Ministry of Public Works said that the roads will not be closed to traffic, but all motorists should use caution and avoid collisions with race participants.

“The race route will be controlled by police officers and race marshals,” the notice said. “Motorists must follow the instructions from the police officers and race marshals to assist with traffic control for this event.

“The Ministry of Public Works wishes to encourage the full co-operation of the motoring public and apologises for any inconvenience that may result.”
