Lane closure expected in Smith’s next week

A section of road in Smith’s will be reduced to one lane of traffic next week, the Ministry of Public Works announced.

A ministry spokesman said the lane closure will affect Harrington Sound Road at the junction of White Crest Hill so that trenching can be carried out in the area.

The closure will begin on May 27 and is scheduled to finish on May 28. Work will be done from 8am to 5pm both days.

Invisible trenching will conduct the work and representatives from the company will manage traffic in the area with stop and go signs.

The ministry encouraged the public’s co-operation during and apologised for any inconvenience.

Questions about the closure can be directed to Kip Froud, from Invisible Trenching, on 236-8712.
