Carnival event will result in bus detours
Carnival festivities will result in several bus detours on National Heroes Day, the Ministry of Transport announced.
The ministry said Route Nos 4, 10 and 11 will arrive at the central bus terminal via Berkeley Hill, St John’s Road, Woodlands Road, Dundonald Street and Washington Street on Monday.
They will use the same roads to leave the city, with Route Nos 10 and 11 resuming normal routes after Berkeley Hill and Route No 4 to take its usual route east of St John’s Road.
This detour will affect inbound Route No 10 buses between 11.15am and 2.15pm and again after 6.15pm.
Route No 10 leaving the terminal will be detoured from 12.15pm to 2.15pm.
Inbound Route No 11 buses will be detoured from 7.45am to 1.35pm and at 5.45pm. For outbound No 11s, detours will be in place from 7.45am to 2.45pm.
Route No 11s leaving the city between 3.45pm and 5.45pm will detour along Palmetto Road and resume their normal route at Barkers Hill.
Route Nos 1, 3, 6, 7 and 8 will not be detoured.
A spokeswoman said: “The public is also advised that due to the nature of the event, the detours will shift throughout the day and evening until authorities reopen all roads.”
