Lane closure on North Shore Road starts next weekend

The westbound lane of North Shore Road from Shelly Bay MarketPlace to Radnor Road in Hamilton Parish will be closed from August 18 for 13 days.

The Ministry of Public Works said the closure, which will be in effect between 7.30am and 5pm daily, is for trenching to install a water line.

It advised motorists to avoid the route and use detours via Harrington Sound Road.

A government spokesman said: “Island Construction Ltd representatives will manage traffic using traffic lights, stop and go signs, and cones.

“Access to Shelly Bay MarketPlace will be maintained at all times.”

He added: “Those travelling through this area should expect delays and proceed cautiously.”

The public works ministry encouraged full co-operation from motorists and apologised for any inconvenience.

Any questions about the works can be directed to Curtis Charles, the ministry’s construction and maintenance engineer, on 501-3036.
