Lane closure on Harrington Sound Road this week

A lane closure is in effect on Harrington Sound Road from Manor House Bridge to Middle Road in Flatts until Friday.

The Ministry of Public Works said the closure, which runs from 7.30am to 5pm daily, is for sequential milling and paving works to take place.

It advised motorists to avoid this route and use detours via Knapton Hill and North Shore Road.

A government spokesman said: “Those who must travel through the affected area should anticipate delays and are urged to proceed cautiously.

“The ministry appreciates the public's understanding and co-operation as it works to improve the road conditions for all users.”

The ministry will manage traffic control during the works, employing barricades, stop-and-go signs and cones.

The public works ministry encouraged full co-operation from motorists and apologised for any inconvenience.

Any questions regarding the works should be directed to Curtis Charles, works construction and maintenance engineer, on 501-303.
