Man seriously injured in Southside crash

A man has suffered life-threatening injuries after a traffic collision in St David’s tonight.

A police spokeswoman said that shortly after 9pm, police and other first responders were dispatched to a report of a serious single-vehicle crash involving a motorcycle on Southside Road near the former White’s Supermarket.

“Details surrounding the circumstances of this collision are limited at this time,” she said. “However, the victim, believed to be a 50-year-old man, has been transported to King Edward VII Memorial Hospital for treatment.

“Those injuries have been described as life-threatening. Traffic is being diverted on to St David’s Road while police process the scene.”

Anyone with information about the collision is urged to call the Roads Policing Unit on 211.
