Man seriously injured in Southside crash

A man has suffered life-threatening injuries after a traffic collision in St David’s tonight.

A police spokeswoman said that shortly after 9pm, police and other first responders were dispatched to a report of a serious single-vehicle crash involving a motorcycle on Southside Road near the former White’s Supermarket.

“Details surrounding the circumstances of this collision are limited at this time,” she said. “However, the victim, believed to be a 50-year-old man, has been transported to King Edward VII Memorial Hospital for treatment.

“Those injuries have been described as life-threatening. Traffic is being diverted on to St David’s Road while police process the scene.”

Anyone with information about the collision is urged to contact the Roads Policing Unit on 211 if they have not already been in contact with police.
