Lane closure on Pitts Bay Road
A section of Pitts Bay Road will be reduced to one lane tomorrow so that road markings can be repainted, the Ministry of Public Works announced.
The closure will occur near 75 Pitts Bay Road in Pembroke and will be in effect from 6am to 9am.
The ministry said all original bike and car parking bays and the road’s centreline will be reinstated.
It said: “Motorists are advised to avoid this area by using detour routes in the west via Rosemont Avenue and in the east via Woodbourne Avenue.”
The ministry added: “Motorists who traverse through Pitts Bay Road should expect delays and must travel with care to avoid pedestrians and workers.”
Traffic control will be managed by the ministry’s representatives who will use barricades, stop-and-go signs and cones.
The ministry asked for co-operation from the public and apologised for any inconvenience.
Questions about the works can be directed to Curtis Charles, a construction and maintenance engineer, on 501-3036.
