Bermudiana Road to be closed for repaving

Bermudiana Road will be closed for about two weeks from September 3

Repaving work on Bermudiana Road is scheduled to begin next week, and the City of Hamilton warned motorists that traffic will be affected.

A spokeswoman said that work will begin on September 3 and last about two weeks.

She added: “During this time Bermudiana Road will be closed off to the motoring public.

“This includes the public transportation services as well.

“Work will begin at the northern end of Bermudiana Road at the junction with Church Street and will proceed south to Front Street.

“Please note that there will be no parking of any vehicles, bikes or cars along Bermudiana Road at any time while works are ongoing.”

The City spokeswoman said that Gorham Road will be accessible from the Woodbourne entrance only, but assistance will be provided when possible for businesses at the southern end of Bermudiana Road to allow access on to Front Street when necessary.

“Area businesses are urged to please utilise the Par-La-Ville Road entrances and parking when available as much as possible,” the spokeswoman added.

“The Corporation of Hamilton would like to take this time to thank the motoring public for their co-operation and assistance during this project.”
