Woman injured in two-vehicle crash in Sandys

A woman was injured in a two-vehicle collision in Sandys yesterday.
Police responded to a report of the incident on Somerset Road near Lantana Drive at about 5.50pm.
A spokesman for the Bermuda Police Service said that the female driver of the car, which was headed west, struck a utility pool and crossed into the path of an oncoming car.
The woman was taken to King Edward VII Memorial Hospital for treatment of her injuries, which are not believed to be life-threatening. The driver of the other vehicle was not reported to be injured.
As a result of the collision, the road was completely blocked.
Police diverted traffic on to the railway trail at Somerset Bridge and Lantana Road while the accident scene was cleared.
