A sunken vehicle off Harbour Road in Paget broke through a roadside wall and fell into the sea in an incident reported to police at 10.15pm on Sunday night.

The driver, said to be a 37-year-old Hamilton Parish man, was taken by ambulance to King Edward VII Memorial Hospital, where he was treated for non-life threatening injuries.

Police said the white car, which remained submerged in Hamilton Harbour, was discovered unoccupied between the junctions with Valley Road and Highwood Lane.

A spokesman said it was apparently being driven in the westbound lane of Harbour Road when the vehicle went across the road and hit the wall, ending up in the water.

Any witnesses or members of the public with details, and who have not already come forward, should call 211, share relevant information through the Bermuda Police Service community reporting portal, or speak with a familiar police officer.
