Motorcyclist hurt in collision with tractor-trailer truck
A motorcyclist was taken to hospital with potentially serious injuries after a crash in Southampton this morning.
The Bermuda Police Service said that the incident happened at about 9am at the junction of Middle Road and South Road in the vicinity of Barnes Corner.
A BPS spokesman said: “Early information indicates that a tractor-trailer truck driven in the eastbound lane of Middle Road turned on to South Road, at the same time as a motorcycle ridden behind the tractor trailer truck along Middle Road also turned onto South Road, in the vicinity of Barnes Corner.
“The male motorcyclist was hurt and transported to King Edward VII Memorial Hospital via ambulance for treatment of potentially serious injuries.”
He added that officers directed motorists while processing the scene, and that traffic flow returned to normal at about 12.45pm.
Anyone who saw the collision or with relevant information was asked to call police on 211, or use the BPS community reporting portal at portal.police.bm.
