IT outage impacts some airport services
A temporary IT systems outage is affecting the LF Wade International Airport.
The Ministry of National Security said the outage impacted immigration, customs and health services at the terminal and that engineers were working to restore full functionality as quickly as possible.
It added: “In response to the outage, customs and immigration officers have seamlessly implemented emergency protocols, reverting to manual processing to ensure that passenger services continue with minimal disruption.
“While passenger volumes are generally low today, between 2pm and 3pm, four flights carrying approximately 200 passengers are scheduled to arrive.
“The ministry is confident that the measures in place will effectively manage this influx.
The ministry thanked people for their understanding and said it will provide an update on the situation as soon as possible.
