Triathlon to restrict traffic in Southside on Sunday
Motorists were warned that traffic in St David’s will be affected by a triathlon to take place on Sunday afternoon.
The Bermuda Triathlon Association will host the road race between 2pm and 4pm, with racers going throughout the Southside area.
Participants will set out from the car park at Clearwater Beach and head down Cooper’s Island Road, Pepper Hall Road and Southside Road.
The racecourse will then have the triathletes turn around and go back to Clearwater Beach by the same route for several laps.
As a result, Southside Road will be closed from Tommy Fox Road to Pepper Hall Road and Cooper’s Island Road will be closed from Southside Road to Clearwater Beach Park.
A government notice said: “All motorists are expected to use caution and to avoid collisions with race participants.
“The race route will be under the control of police officers and race marshals.
“Motorists must follow the instructions from the police officers and race marshals to assist with traffic control for this event.”
