Teenager dies after crash on Harrington Sound Road

A 19-year-old has died after a two-vehicle collision in Smith’s yesterday, police have confirmed.

A police spokesman said that at 8.10am, officers attended the junction of Harrington Sound Road and Lolly’s Well Road in the aftermath of a collision involving a truck and a motorcycle.

“It was reported the truck driver was exiting the driveway of a nearby residence on Lolly’s Well Road, when the two vehicles became involved in a collision,” the spokesman said.

“Upon arrival, officers were informed the motorcycle rider, a 19-year-old-male, had been transported to King Edward VII Memorial Hospital by ambulance.

“Officers attended the hospital and were informed the male had sustained serious injuries and was undergoing surgery

“Sadly, the young man succumbed to his injuries during surgery.”

The death is the sixth on Bermuda’s roads this year.
