Disney Cruise Line’s newest ship, Disney Treasure, was involved in a rescue operation about 265 miles from Bermuda today.

According to reports, the ship, en route from Eemshaven in the Netherlands to Florida’s Port Canaveral, rescued four people after answering the vessel’s distress call.

“We are pleased that the Disney Treasure was able to provide aid to the boat passengers in peril,” Captain Marco Nogara said in a statement.

“Our crew members worked together on the rescue, skilfully demonstrating their training and commitment to safety.”

According to reports, the 50ft catamaran, Serenity, took on water after its escape hatch blew a gasket, according to the US Coast Guard. The vessel was about 265 miles off the coast of Bermuda.

“The Treasure launched a life boat and rescued all four people aboard the Serenity sometime between 1pm and 1.45pm,” the Coast Guard said.
