Lane and road closures expected in coming weeks

Road works and a holiday event will affect traffic in Warwick and Pembroke, the Ministry of Public Works announced.

A ministry spokesman said Middle Road, between Longford Road and Camp Hill, will be reduced to one lane of traffic starting on Saturday, November 23.

This closure will be in effect until January 17 to accommodate cable pulling in the area.

Work will take place from 8am to 5pm and Belco representatives will manage traffic with stop-and-go signs, cones and barricades.

Motorists are encouraged to use caution in the area or detour via Harbour Road or South Road.

The spokesman added that Curving Avenue, from Middle Town Drive to the Technic Shop building on Middle Town Road, will be closed to all traffic on December 8.

The area will be closed from midday until 8pm while the Christmas on the Curve event takes place.

Members of the Church of God of Prophecy will manage traffic in the area and motorists should detour along Happy Valley Road or Parsons Road.

Questions about the Warwick lane closure can be directed to Belco project engineer Jonathan Pedro at 295-5111 and Erna DeGraff, from the Church of God of Prophecy, can be contacted on 335-0984 about the closure in Pembroke.
