Airlift to several destinations to fall next month
Several airlines are expected to cut back on flights to Bermuda next month with the close of the holiday season.
As of yesterday, the January flight schedule, published online by Skyport, included a reduction in flights to and from the island by American Airlines, Air Canada and United Airlines.
American Airlines is scheduled to halt daily flights between Bermuda and Miami from January 6.
On the same date, the airline will reduce its service to Charlotte, North Carolina, cutting weekly flights from seven to five.
However, the airline will continue to offer daily service between Bermuda and New York JFK.
Air Canada is expected to halt its Tuesday flight between Bermuda and Toronto in January, cutting flights from four to three.
United Airlines will curtail its service between Bermuda and Newark from seven weekly flights to four, from January 6.
Sata Airlines will continue to offer seasonal service between Bermuda and the Azores with flights to and from Ponta Delgada scheduled for January 11 and January 18.
BermudAir will slightly bolster its weekly service between Bermuda and Halifax with extra flights scheduled for January 4.
The Bermuda-based airline will also offer five weekly flights to Boston and Westchester, three weekly flights to Toronto, two weekly flights to Baltimore and Orlando and a weekly service to Fort Lauderdale.
JetBlue service between Bermuda and Boston will continue to operate four days a week, while Delta Air Lines will continue to operate four weekly flights to New York and three weekly flights to Atlanta.
British Airways, meanwhile, will continue to offer five weekly flights between Bermuda and London Heathrow.
