Police: injured teenager in stable condition

Crash

A teenager who suffered serious injuries in a crash on Saturday night was in stable condition today at King Edward VII Memorial Hospital, according to police.

The 19-year-old man was in the intensive care unit, a spokesman for the Bermuda Police Service said.

He was one of two motorcycle riders who collided with each other at the junction of Verdmont Road and St Mark’s Road in Smith’s shortly before 10pm.

“The other rider involved, understood to be a 23-year-old local woman, received hospital treatment for her injuries and was later discharged,” the spokesman said.

“It now appears that the 23-year-old was travelling along St Mark’s Road and the 19-year-old was travelling along Verdmont Road when the collision occurred at the junction.”

Anyone with information was asked to contact Sergeant Milton Hill on 211 or by e-mailing mjhill@bps.bm.
