Island’s first road death of 2025 identified by police

An 18-year-old woman who was fatally injured while riding her motorcycle last Friday has been named by police as A’Maya DeRosa.

The crash that claimed her life occurred at 2.30pm on Middle Road in Paget, near the junction with Manse Road.

Her family are being helped by a police family liaison officer.

The incident is under investigation by Pc DeForest Evans, of the roads policing unit.

Police thanked those who have assisted with inquiries, and continue to appeal for any witnesses who have not come forward, or anyone with information, to call 717-0860 or e-mail devans@bps.bm.

The public can also share information with a familiar police officer or use the online community reporting portal on the police website.
