KEMH entrance closed to traffic on Friday
Traffic at King Edward VII Memorial Hospital will be limited tomorrow, the Bermuda Hospitals Board announced.
A spokeswoman said no through traffic will be allowed on the hospital campus between Point Finger Road and Berry Hill Road from 1pm to 6pm.
She explained: “The road closure will facilitate two consecutive crane lifts, the first outside the orthopaedic (fracture) clinic and the second by the general wing lobby entrance.
“This will allow the replacement of an air handling unit and air unit coils.”
The hospital’s emergency department and main acute care wing entrance and parking lot can be accessed from Point Finger Road during the closure, and access to the general wing visitor parking lot will be from Berry Hill Road.
The spokeswoman urged people to obey all signage, barricades and personnel at the site during this time.
