Traffic restriction at KEMH on Friday

Traffic will be affected at the King Edward VII Memorial Hospital tomorrow, the Bermuda Hospitals Board said.

No through traffic will be allowed past the emergency section up to the Healing Garden parking area between 7am and 5pm, a spokeswoman said.

“This closure is necessary to accommodate the arrival and emptying of containers on the KEMH site,” the spokeswoman explained.

Visitors can use Point Finger Road to access the car park for acute care wing services, including emergencies.

Access to the Berry Hill Road visitors’ car park and the Healing Garden car park for general wing services will be allowed from Berry Hill Road only.

If the work is interrupted by rain, the hours of closure may be extended, the spokeswoman said.

Motorists were urged to drive carefully and follow instructions from on-site personnel.
