Work on Somerset Road that has altered traffic for more than five months has been completed, the Ministry of Public Works and Environment has announced.
The $1.1 million scheme involved replacing a deteriorated retaining wall along Scaur Hill in Sandys with a durable 230ft structure.
A spokesman said the road was now reopened to regular traffic, with detours and the single lane on the Railway Trail no longer in effect.
He added: “All signs and road markings associated with the detour routes will be removed in the coming weeks, and the process is expected to be completed within the next month.”
Regular bus service has resumed at stops on Middle Road and Somerset Road, with the temporary stop on the Railway Trail closed.
