Airlines bolster flights to island as summer nears
Direct flights to Rhode Island and increased airlift between Bermuda and New York will begin next month, according to the May flight schedule.
As of Monday, the schedule, published online by Skyport, said that JetBlue would resume its direct service between Bermuda and New York JFK on May 15, with the airline offering four flights a week to the city.
The airline will also continue to offer its daily service between the island and Boston.
Meanwhile, BermudAir is set to launch its direct service between Bermuda and Providence, Rhode Island, effective May 22, with the flights operating on Thursdays and Sundays.
The Bermudian-based airline will also offer five weekly flights to Boston, Westchester and Toronto, three weekly flights to Baltimore, two weekly flights to Halifax, Hartford and Raleigh-Durham and weekly flights to Fort Lauderdale, Orlando and Charleston.
BermudAir flights to both Richmond, Virginia, and Montreal, Quebec, are expected to come online on June 7 and June 12 respectively.
Air Canada will slightly bolster its service between Bermuda and Toronto, bringing the number of weekly flights from four to five.
American Airlines will also increase the number of flights to the island, offering daily services to Charlotte, New York, Philadelphia and Miami.
Delta Air Lines will continue four weekly flights to New York and three weekly flights to Atlanta.
United Airlines will continue its daily service to Newark, while British Airways will continue its daily service to London.
