TCD: commercial vehicle permits now online

Owners of commercial vehicles will benefit from the latest move to go digital at the Transport Control Department, with applications online at forms.gov.bm.

The commercial vehicle permit is required for individuals and businesses seeking authorisation to purchase or import a commercial vehicle, including heavy, intermediate or light trucks, community service vehicles and trailers.

It also covers Sunday permits for commercial vehicles.

Unnecessary requirements, such as the submission of a client list, have been dropped from the process.

Owen Darrell, the transport minister, said the move brought “significant benefits for both applicants and TCD staff”.

The move to digital applications at the TCD was announced in March.

Other online services include registering a classic motor car, changing a vehicle’s category for use, trailer permits for sport groups, applications to become an instructor at Project Ride, applications for exemptions, and importation and replacement applications.
