Poor weather forces cancellation of Harbour Nights
Adverse weather conditions have led to the cancellation of Harbour Nights this evening.
Event organisers the Bermuda Chamber of Commerce said: “The forecast indicates that the skies are unlikely to clear sufficiently to host the event safely.
“Our top priority is the safety and wellbeing of our community, and we believe that cancelling the event is the most responsible decision given the circumstances.”
The organisation urged people to prepare for Hurricane Ernesto, which is expected to reach 56 miles west of Bermuda at 11am on Saturday.
It added: “Tonight’s Harbour Nights, sponsored by One Communications, was set to feature a special Kids’ Zone takeover.
“We are pleased to inform the public that One Communications has chosen to postpone their plans to next week rather than cancel them.
“We appreciate your understanding and look forward to resuming our Harbour Nights celebrations once conditions improve.
“Stay tuned for updates on future events, and please stay safe.”
