Road surfaces were not the only casualty from days of hard rain, after a saturated cliff face gave way at the west end of Palmetto Road in Pembroke.

The rockfall, including boulders, dropped from the embankment next to a bus bay across from the junction with Bishop Spencer Road.

Debris covered the sidewalk but fell short of the main road.

It came after two days of often heavy downpours, with the Bermuda Weather Service predicting a respite.

Approaching low pressure is expected to bring more showers towards the end of the week.
