Stay fit on holiday and have fun
Holidays are a great time to beat the Bermuda heat and relax and enjoy yourself, but they can also be a great time to get in shape. Here are a few tips on how to make your holiday fun and fit:
Plan ahead. Before you go on holiday, make a plan for how you're going to stay active. This might include booking a hotel with a gym, finding a hiking trail near your destination, or signing up for a yoga class.
Be flexible. Things don't always go according to plan on holiday, so be prepared to be flexible with your workouts. If it's too hot to go for a run, try swimming or biking instead. And if you're feeling tired, take a rest day instead of pushing yourself too hard.
Make it fun. If you're not having fun, you're less likely to stick with it. So find ways to make your workouts fun, such as working out with a friend, listening to music, or taking a scenic route for your run.
Hydrate. It's important to stay hydrated, especially when you're working out in hot weather. Drink plenty of water before, during, and after your workouts.
Listen to your body. If you're feeling pain, stop and take a break. Don't push yourself too hard, or you could end up getting injured.
Here are some additional tips to make your holiday fun and fit:
Take advantage of the activities that are offered at your destination. Many hotels, resorts, and holiday rental properties have gyms, pools, and other amenities that you can use for free or for a small fee.
Explore the local area on foot or by bike. This is a great way to get some exercise and see the sights at the same time.
Sign up for a guided tour or class. This is a great way to learn about the local culture and history, and it can also be a lot of fun.
Go hiking, swimming, or kayaking. These are all great ways to get exercise and enjoy the outdoors.
Play beach volleyball or frisbee. This is a great way to get some exercise and have some fun with friends or family.
Go dancing or to a concert. This is a great way to get your heart rate up and have some fun.
Take a fitness break. If you're feeling really stressed or burnt out, consider taking a day or two off from working out during your holiday. This will give your body a chance to rest and recover, and you'll come back refreshed and ready to hit the gym
No matter what you choose to do, make sure you enjoy your holiday and stay active!
