Adieu! Students to go on French holiday
Twenty-seven Bermuda High School for Girls students will be spending their Easter vacation in France.
For the year 10 pupils are to be part of a cultural exchange programme in the southern region of Toulon.
Leaving on March 26 and returning April 9, the girls will attend French school and spend time with host families during the weekends.
Two sight-seeing tours to nearby Camargue and the Principality of Monaco have also been organised.
The students have hopes of returning the gesture of their new French friends by inviting them to visit Bermuda in the summer.
"I believe this trip will have a tremendous impact on the lives of our students,'' said BHS French teacher Geraldine Booth.
She stressed that the voyage will not only introduce the girls to a different way of life, but also enhance their language skills as they near preparation for end-of-school examinations.
"More importantly,'' Mrs. Booth added, "they will benefit from the exposure to another culture and the discovery of new levels of self-reliance.'' Bon voyage!
