secretary of the 1995 graduating class and captain of the volleyball team.

Cidalia's favourite classes are English, typing and physical education and she enjoys playing volleyball, netball and basketball.

Cidalia loves Chinese food and fast food. She also enjoys listening to any kind of music except country.

She likes the movies `Dumb and Dumber', and `Low Down Dirty Shame' because they are amusing and entertaining.

She would most like to meet the Governor because, she says: "I don't see him unless he is on television or in a car. I don't know much about him and I'd like to know what he does.'' Cidalia said she felt youth violence was one of society's main problems. She pointed out that a reason for all the violence had to be identified and a solution found.

She expressed fear that in 15 years, if the violence and murders continued, the Island could face another recession. On the other hand, she said, if a solution were found to the problems, Bermuda could return to what it used to be, a peaceful Island where people didn't have to be afraid to speak to other people on the street or to go out at night.

Cidalia said Government should build a large recreation centre for teenagers.

This centre would house a games room, a gymnasium, a bowling alley and an Olympic-size pool with slides and diving boards.

She said her family, teachers (especially Mr. Keith Hart), friends, and boyfriend Chris had been a great support to her . She said they had helped her become who she was by encouraging her to be the best that she could be.

Cidalia has one older brother Richard. She also has two pet parakeets for pets.

She recalled that the best day of her life was when she turned 16 and was allowed her "privileges''. She said the worst day of her life was when she failed a test for the first and only time.

"I was disappointed in myself, I let myself down,'' she said.

However, Cidalia did not let that deter her. She is on the honour roll and has been student of the month for English and Spanish.

Cidalia said she wanted to become an accountant or a travel agent. After graduation she plans to attend Bermuda College for two years, get some experience, and then enter the business world.

Asked where she would choose to go if she received a blank airline ticket to anywhere in the world, the teenager said: "I would go to Paris, France, because it is exciting, beautiful and romantic. I also like the fashions there.''
