Malone'' next week.

Co-directors Nigel Kermode and Jane Farrar were this week working with the 65-strong cast to put the finishing touches on the show.

Alan Parker's "Bugsy Malone'', currently being staged in London's West End by the National Youth Theatre, is a children's musical set in 1929 New York City.

It is a world of pint-sized hoodlums, showgirls, and dreamers experiencing the trials of love affairs, ambition and gang warfare. It concludes in a celebration amid foam from custard pies and splurge guns.

The show will be performed on Wednesday, Thursday, and Friday with a special gala performance next Saturday. On that day the audience will enjoy dinner prior to the show.

A special souvenir programme, including "Bugsy'' recipes, will be on sale each night. Proceeds from sales will go to the charity Riding for the Disabled.

Tickets for "Bugsy Malone'' are available at Saltus Senior School. Seats are priced at $10 for adults and $5 for children for performances on Wednesday, Thursday, and Friday.

Saturday's gala performance tickets cost $25.

Reservations can be made at the Senior School Office by calling 292-6177.
