Fancy a trip to China?
fun-filled afternoon exploring the sights, sounds and tastes of China this weekend.
Guest speaker, Richard Lau, the director of Information Services at King Edward VII Memorial Hospital, hails from Hong Kong and will give an insight into life in China.
The children will be invited to participate in activities related to Chinese New Year, which ushers in the Year of the Snake next week, and the afternoon will conclude the a variety of tasty morsels created by Tommy Poh, chef at the Harbourfront Restaurant.
The registration fee is $5, and those wishing to participate may register at the Youth Library by Friday afternoon.
These entries are authenticated with a parent, guardian or teacher's signature. Two more `visits' are planned: To Switzerland in February and Jamaica in March. The students who take their completed passports to the Youth Library will be eligible for prizes to be awarded in June 2001. Prizes include book vouchers from The Children's Bookshop and a travel voucher for two.
