"I give God all the honour and glory for giving me this talent,'' says 12-year-old Dainavon Tuzo.

Dainavon is one of Bermuda's many talented young musicians.

Since receiving his first drum set at the age of two, he has loved music.

He has been inspired by many musicians in his church such as Minister Horace Simons Jr., Exhorter Terry Berkeley, and church musicians Troy Seymour and Eddy Berkeley.

At the tender age of five he started to play drums at his church, Miracle Temple on North Shore, where the pastor is also his grandmother.

As much as Dainavon loves to play drums, he expanded his horizons at the age of eight when he decided to get piano lessons from his cousin Ormund after his father Eugene Tuzo taught him how to play a song on a keyboard.

Dainavon was so excited to know how to play on the keyboard he played that one song for his grandmother Pastor Dorothy Tuzo, his great aunt Millie (Mildred) Hodgson, his cousins, Ormund, Elaine and Adwina over and over again.

Dainavon has played drums overseas with the Sunbeam Choir in Jamaica and in North Carolina. He has also given a special solo selection in a church in St.

Croix.

Dainavon has also written songs for the Sunbeam Choir -- one of which is entitled "God Can''.

At the age of 11, Dainavon decided to expand his horizons again by learning how to play the saxophone. He recalled that his grandmother knew how to play the saxophone.

"Granny taught me how to blow, but I give God all the honour and the Glory for my musical talents'' Dainavon said. "I got a saxophone because I asked her to get me one for Christmas and she got me one.'' Dainavon currently plays in two bands -- one is called 4 Real with Ronneka Brangman as the saxophonist, John Lee as the Bass player, Leroy Francis and Dainavon alternate the role of playing keyboard and drums.

Dainavon also plays with "a couple of guys from Berkeley Institute''.

"We just get together and jam,'' he said. ''Music is my blood, I can't escape from it.'' Dainavon's ambition in life is to use his musical talents in church and to be a music teacher.
