I have hundreds of hobbies.

No I don't, but it seems that way. I found out at about ten-years-old I had a natural ability of running not only fast but at long distances as well.

I would always, without a lot of effort, be at the front of the pack by quite a distance while running at school. In sprints it took a little more work to keep above everyone else but I was strong and finished first.

Another hobby I have is sailing optimist dinghies.

I started this exciting hobby when I was only eight-years-old. In just a few years I could master the boat. I became a professional sailor.

I went through a lot of different very experienced coaches who taught me lots of very useful information. In 1999, I finally went to something every sailor wanted to go to and be proud of.

I went to the World National Championships. It was a wonderful experience filled with excitement every day. Even though I didn't place well it was great just racing against the top sailors in the world.

Although I have many hobbies to tell you about these are my three best ones.

My third best hobby is basketball. I really didn't get in the game until Senior One when I was 12-years-old. It was the first school basketball sign ups and I really wanted to get picked.

There were about 30 people trying out for five places for the team. I thought I would never get picked because I was a new student to the senior school and all the older Senior Two were favoured because it was their last year getting chosen.

I tried my best making shots that looked impossible, dribbling around experienced guys, and blocking good shots. Everyone was amazing so I wasn't absolutely sure.

A couple of impatient, nervous days passed and there it was -- the school team posted up on the notice board. I looked down the list scanning the names to see if there was my own. My name had appeared fourth on the list and from that moment I knew if I tried my absolute best at anything I could most certainly achieve it.

These snapshots are the important moments in my life and I intend to live the rest with even more.
